&lt;p&gt;Mimicking table elements with CSS is quite useful because of the way tables are flexible.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I can provide a good example. In a particular client&#039;s website, http://navarropharma.com/ you will see that there are tab-style links at the top. Notice how this website is fixed-width and center aligned, yet the lower edge of the tab continues to the right edge of the browser. That was accomplished by giving the center div a fixed width of 960px and the outside divs 50% width so they take up the rest of the space. Take a look at the code and you&#039;ll see the benefit of it!&lt;/p&gt;
