I’m a big fan of Gmail but have never been a big fan of the design. My opinion my be changing with the release of Gmail Themes. It hasn’t been added to my account yet, but I’m checking regularly.
Interesting collection of NIN covers from 8-Bit musical artists. [via Jon Sykes]
I’ve known about the ability to watch high quality YouTube videos for a while now and even have my account preference set to it. But I didn’t know of a way to actually embed the high quality version of a video, until now. Kottke has a post explaining how to embed a high quality YouTube video into your site.
Google uses flu search data trends to estimate flu activity in your state up to two weeks faster than traditional system. Nifty.
Photos from Callie Shell of Obama on the campaign trail. These are a bit more candid in nature than the previous set I linked to. You’ll need to keep clicking the “Show More Images” link at the bottom of the page. via SimpleBits
Great set of photos on The Big Picture of the next President of the United States taken over the past year.

As a father of two with 6 kid oriented Christmas’ under his belt, I can’t tell you the joy it brings to hear about Amazon’s new Frustration-Free Packaging program. Many bloody-fingered parents will be ordering toys online just because of this. (via 37signals)
Great typographic overview of this fucking election.

Tapulous has released the previously mentioned Tap Tap Revenge - Nine Inch Nails Edition for the iPhone and iPod touch. It includes 13 NIN songs from the Slip and Ghosts albums and it sports a NIN visual theme. From my brief time playing I can say it was definitely worth the wait. Must buy for any NIN fan.
It’s time once again to gear up for the Polling Place Photo Project put together by the New York Times. I participated in this with the 2008 primaries and will be doing it again with the general election.
The Living Room Candidate. A Great archive of presidential campaign commercials from 1952-2008. Even in 1952 people were complaining about high prices and candidates were preaching change. Oh, how the times have changed.

Tapulous will be releasing a Nine Inch Nails licensed version of Tap Tap Revenge, one of the most popular iPhone games. It will consist of a NIN theme and over dozen songs from the past two albums. If anything can break me away from MotionX Poker, this would be it.
Cool behind the scenes video of the latest NIN stage show from MomentFactory, the company behind the interact elements of the show.
Following up on my previous post about the Canon 5D Mark II, here’s a short entitled “Reverie” filmed entirely with the camera’s HD video capability. Remarkable really. (via Daring Fireball)
In Microsoft’s march toward full CSS 2.1 compliance with IE8, they’ve announced IE8 will be supporting the vendor prefix for proprietary and partially implemented CSS properties. But in true Microsoft fashion they prefer to be one step behind with the omission of -ms-border-radius. (via simplebits)
Type Tweets is an interesting site that parses out the most recent twitter messages that contain type related comments. (via webmonkey)
